I've also got a bunch of videos of the National and State parks in Utah. Those will be forthcoming in the near future. And I am not yet done posting Utah fishing videos either.

Northern Utah Trout Streams

Fishing Blacks Fork River, Utah WATCH BLACKS FORK RIVER The Blacks Fork River is a 175 mile long tributary of the Green River. It is formed in Utah's Unita Mountains by the confluence of the West, East and Middle Forks. After flowing north for 3 miles it enters Meeks Cabin Reservoir where it then crosses into Wyoming. This 3 mile section is shown here. A national forest road follows the Blacks Fork but you will need to hike a bit through the forest to get to the stream as there are no bridge crossings. The Blacks Fork is one of the larger streams in the Unita Mountains and can produce some large fish. I also thought the stream was very scenic. Most people only fish the East and West Forks, leaving this main fork with little pressure. Most of the trout in the Blacks Fork are cutthroat with a few brook trout. Some mountain whitefish are also present.
Fishing East Fork Blacks Fork River, Utah WATCH EAST FORK BLACKS FORK RIVER The East Fork of the Blacks Fork River flows north for 16 miles thru northern Utah's Uintah Mountains. The main fish are brook trout and cutthroats. They don't get too big here but there are a good number of them. A forest road follows the lower half of the stream and a trail will lead you to the upper half. You can park along the roadside and hike thru the woods to reach the stream. This is national forest land. While there are some fenced areas for cattle and sheep grazing you are free to trespass as you please.
Fishing East Fork Blacks Fork River, Utah WATCH WEST FORK BLACKS FORK RIVER The West Fork of the Blacks Fork River flows north for 16 miles thru northern Utah's Uintah Mountains. Some have described the valley through which flows the West Fork as one of the most scenic in all of Utah. I wouldn't disagree. A forest road follows much of the stream and if you have a high clearance vehicle you can follow it as it crosses the West Fork to the upper sections. Some nice cutthroats can be found here but most of the fish are modest sized brook trout with an occasional whitefish. The elevation here is over 10,000' so be prepared for unpredictable weather.
Fishing Lower Provo River, Utah WATCH PROVO RIVER LOWER SECTION Aside from the Green River I would say the Provo River is probably Utah's most well known trout stream. It flows thru central Utah and has 3 distinct sections. On this day we were fishing the lower section. This is a tailwater fishery coming out of Deer Creek Reservoir, which keeps the water cool during the summer and warm during the winter. The lower Provo is followed by the Provo Canyon Trail giving excellent access to 20 miles of river. Traffic from the nearby highway can be a little bothersome and there are a lot of bicyclists on the trail. Once we got below the inlet structure the roar of the rapids helped to drown out the traffic noise. At one time the Provo was considered the most heavily fished stream in the USA. This is due to good access, good fishing, a long fishing season and a lot of people in near by Salt Lake City. I recommend fishing small flies to help fool the highly educated fish
Fishing Middle Provo River, Utah WATCH PROVO RIVER MIDDLE SECTION The middle Provo River is that section from Jordanelle Reservoir down to Deer Creek Reservoir. This is a tailwater fishery and provides good habitat for the trout, although the flows can get a little high during the summer months. There are about 4 access points and much public land along this segment of stream. Angler paths make walking along the river easy. As the fishing is good and the access is easy this part of the Provo gets a lot of fishing pressure. It is advisable to walk a ways from the access points to get to less pressured water. Brown trout are the most common fish present and they often reach sizes of 14 to 18 inches. Rainbow trout are also present and there can be good fishing in the spring when they migrate out of Deer Creek reservoir.

Southern Utah Trout Streams

Fishing Antimony Creek, Utah WATCH ANTIMONY CREEK, UT Antimony Creek is one of the more scenic streams in central Utah. There are a LOT of wild brown trout averaging 10" to 12" with a few up to 16". Some rainbow trout are present too. It runs thru National Forest lands so access is good. Filmed on 06/03/13.
Duck Creek, UT WATCH DUCK CREEK, UT Duck Creek in southwest Utah offers good fishing for stocked rainbow trout and brook trout. It lies in the Dixie National Forest, not far from Assay Creek and Mammoth Creek, two other good trout streams. There is a road nearby, offering easy access, although I saw no one else fishing this day. Also shown is Duck Creek Reservoir.
Harvest River Reservoir Brook Trout, UT WATCH FISHLAKE NATIONAL FOREST, UT This video shows us catching brook trout from Harvest River Reservoir in Utah's Fishlake National Forest. This is near the Gooseberry recreational area. Lots of brook trout in this interesting alpine lake, many in the 11"-12" range. It was June 5 and there was still a bit of snow on parts of the shoreline. No one else was fishing it that day but us.
Pinto Creek, UT WATCH PINTO CREEK, UT Pinto Creek in SW Utah is a good stream for rainbow trout. It runs through the Dixie National Forest nearby FR 011 so access is good. The water level was still a little high in early May when we filmed this but as you can see we still caught fish. The area is crawling with snakes and there may be some gold in the stream.
Pleasant Creek, Dixie National Forest, UT WATCH PLEASANT CREEK, UT Fishing Pleasant Creek downstream from Hwy 12 in the Dixie National Forest, Utah. This is near the Capital Reef National Park. The stream has small rainbows but it is difficult to fish with the vegetation, much of which has thorns and can rip your waders. We then tried near by Brown's Reservoir which had a lot of fish in it but there were difficult to catch.
Santa Clara River, UT WATCH SANTA CLARA RIVER, UT The Santa Clara River is a fine trout stream offering wild brown trout and stocked rainbows. Located in SW Utah, the upper portion runs thru the Dixie National Forest with very easy access as a road and campground are nearby. It then goes thru a deep canyon with good fishing but difficult access. The film was taken on May 5. The stream is said to not fish so well during the summer due to low flows and high temperatures.
16 inch brown trout, EF Sevier River, UT WATCH BLACK CANYON EF SEVIER RIVER, UT Located in central Utah, this is one of the best brown trout streams I have ever fished. I had about a dozen strikes from browns in the 14"-18" range that I missed. I have never seen so many large trout in a stream of this size. There are a few miles of public access in this area with 2 parking areas. Filmed 06/06/2013.
Upper EF Sevier River, UT WATCH UPPER EF SEVIER RIVER, UT This film shows the scenic, peaceful upper portion of the East Fork Sevier River. Located in Southern Utah near Bryce Canyon, the stream runs thru the Dixie National Forest and has good public access as a forest service road roughly parallels the stream. We were catching plenty of brown trout up to about 13 inches but rainbow and brook trout are also found here. It was a very fun place to fish.
Sevier River, UT WATCH FISHING SEVIER RIVER, UT Fishing Utah's Sevier River in the Circleville Canyon area, which features both easy access and public land. The stream here is known to produce large trout although on this day we only got a couple small rainbows and a small brown trout.
Tiger Trout of UM Creek, UT WATCH TIGER TROUT OF UM CREEK, UT UM Creek is a tributary of the Fremont River in central Utah. It is stocked with tiger trout. These fiesty fellas have the appetite of a brown trout, the recklessness of a brook trout and are really fun to catch. They look pretty cool too. This section is just above Foryths Resevoir and exists on national forest land. Filmed 06/02/2013.
North Creek, Zion NP, UT WATCH NORTH CREEK in ZION NP Few people realize it but there is a trout stream in Zion National Park that has fishable populations of rainbow trout. This is North Creek and its Left and Right forks. It is a difficult stream to get to but the scenic terrain makes the effort worthwhile.

Scenic Sites in Utah

Angles Landing, Zion NP WATCH ANGLES LANDING in ZION NP A hike up to Angles Landing, which probably offers the best view in Zion National Park. The hike is very steep and tiring. People have died attempting it. Let go of that chain and take a wrong step and it is about a 2000 feet drop to the bottom. Sounds fun!
Arches and Canyonlands National Park, UT WATCH ARCHES & CANYONLANDS NATIONAL PARKS
Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah WATCH BEST OF BRYCE CANYON NATIONAL PARK
Capital Gorge Passage, Capital Reef National Park, UT WATCH CAPITAL GORGE PASSAGE in CAPITAL REEF NP
3 Ponds Trail in Snow Canyon State Park, UT WATCH SNOW CANYON STATE PARK We set out in Utah's Snow Canyon Park, near St. George, in search of the three ponds that are reputed to exist in this beautiful yet bizarre desert like environment.
